The Origins & Hawaii…

Welina mai kākou, e aloha mai,

Just as some dedicate their lives to understanding the mind and its inner workings, and others devote themselves to preserving and restoring the physical body, Nurture by Manalani is dedicated to nurturing the strength, clarity, and wellbeing of the Spirit.

For many of us, our spiritual lives come into sharper focus during significant life transitions, birth, loss, illness, death, grief, or seasons of uncertainty. It is often in these moments that we begin searching for something deeper than what the mind alone can understand.

Through the ways of our ancestors— compassionate presence and guidance, rightful and loving action, we create a safe and welcoming space where we can reconnect.

We trace back over 51 generations from Hālawa Valley on the island of Molokaʻi, Hawaiʻi. Our lineage remains one of the oldest unbroken lineages in Hawaiʻi nei. Standing behind me is my direct Kumu, Oʻahu born, Cultural Practitioner Kumu Paʻa & Kumu Hula Kawika Foster and 50th generation Kumu Paʻa Nui Lawrence Kalainia Kamani Aki, born in Hālawa Valley, Molokai.

Whether you are seeking spiritual guidance, emotional support, practical assistance, or simply a safe space where you feel seen and valued — e welina mai… you are welcome here.

Donna May, Manalani, founder of Nurture by Manalani shares this way of living through her life and work as a Cultural Practitioner and Support Worker.

Donna has dedicated her life to living and sharing aloha. Her work is grounded in connection and wellbeing, nurtured through meaningful and loving relationships. Manalani is a committed student, under Kapu Kai ceremony, to Kumu Paʻa Kawika Foster, and to preserving and sharing these teachings.

Over the last decade, she has accompanied her Kumu across her beloved home of Australia, Hawaiʻi, and throughout Europe.

These pathways of healing and support nurture and rekindle the aloha within us, inviting us to remain open and grounded in the goodness of life, and to return to a balanced state where we can contribute to the flourishing, joyful flow of life.

Aloha i kekahi i kekahi — to love one another unconditionally.

Mahalo na Akua — Thank you Higher Being/s, Power/s, Guardians & Ancestors.
